The 2018 Ballon D'or 

For the people that don't know what The Ballon d'Or is, its an annual football award presented by France Football. It has been awarded since 1956, although between 2010 and 2015, an agreement was made with FIFA and the award was temporarily merged with the FIFA World Player of the Year, and known as the FIFA Ballon d'Or. The last 10 years, it has been only two players that win this award and this year they both didn't win. Ronaldo and Messi are the ones that usually win because they both have been the best players in the world in soccer. This year a kid who went from being in a war his whole childhood to the world's best soccer player. He took his team to the finals in the world cup and also won the Golden Ball. The golden ball means he was the best player in the world cup. This story shows that soccer is more than a sport, it give people hope and overcome all the troubles they go through.
